LUSH Dirty Toothy Tabs Review

Hey girls! Today I'm going to share a cool product I've recently tried with you. When I went to LUSH a few weeks ago to pick up a tub of their coveted Lemony Flutter, one of the sales ladies asked me if I wanted to try their 'new toothpaste tabs.' Now, I'm pretty into oral hygiene - I brush, floss and Listerine at least twice daily and after she told me a bit more about the Toothy Tabs, I decided to buy a box.

Toothy Tabs are a line of solid toothpastes made by LUSH. On the Canadian website, there is only one flavor available, Dirty, but on the UK website all six are. This leads me to believe that some flavors have not been released in certain countries, however don't quote me on that. Anyway, I bought a box of Dirty Toothy Tabs and I've decided that I quite like them.

To use the Toothy Tabs, put one of the tabs between your front teeth and chew it up. Next, brush with a wet toothbrush, rinse, spit and you're done! The first thing I noticed when I tried this product was the taste. They don't taste good. Not bad, mind you, just not good. The taste sort of reminded me of salt and plants. Don't let the taste deter you though! It's not very strong. The next thing I noticed was the texture. It's a bit chalky, but once I started brushing I didn't really notice.

On to the good things about this product! I love, love, love how it smells! The back of the box says "sexy spearmint" and I'm going to have to agree with that! My breath felt fresh for hours, while my mouth wasn't left feeling colder (if you know what I mean) like a regular toothpaste would have left it. This made it so much comfortable to drink water afterwards and it didn't affect the taste of the food I ate. It also left my mouth feeling incredibly clean. You know that wonderful clean feeling you get right after you step out of the shower? That's what my mouth and teeth felt like after using the Toothy Tabs.

Wow this post is long winded for me, eh? I'll finish up by saying that this product is great for traveling (no need to deal with exploding toothpaste tubes), easy to use and a great alternative to a regular aluminum/plastic toothpaste tube since the box is 100% recycled material.

LUSH Toothy Tabs retail for $3.95 CAN for 9g (40 tabs).

Several Updates!

Hey Girls! Sorry for missing a couple posts over the last few weeks. I've decided to cut back my posting. I haven't decided how often I'll post, but I imagine It'll be at least twice a week. I was originally going to start cutting back the second week of September because of school starting up again, but I'm so busy already! Another reason for the cut back is my nails have been taking a beating from all of the polishing/removing. Oh, and Hurricane Irene is heading my way, so if I'm mia the next few days, that'll be why.

Another thing I wanted to mention was that I've been thinking of expanding this blog by posting about other beauty products besides nail polish. Mind you, I don't wear any make-up other than mascara, but I'd like to start sharing/reviewing the skin/hair/etc products I use. Would this be something you girls would be interested in? The blog would probably still be 90% about nail polish. Also, If you've noticed me changing the blog layout lately, I can't find anything I like enough to keep. So, that's just me experimenting! If you have any concerns about the layout (font to small, to light, etc.), please contact me!

***Oh, and I've been saying "Hey Girls!" at the beginning of my posts and I'd just like to say that if there are any guys out there who read this blog feel free to send me a comment or hit me with an e-mail and I'll switch to "Hey everyone!" or something like that again!

Thanks a bunch to all of you who read this! Please leave your thoughts in the comments or send them to me in an e-mail!

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Sheer Strawberry & Feather Nail Fail!

Hey girls! Today I've got a swatch of Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Sheer Strawberry. I think this polish is great for doing french manicures. As the name says, it is pretty sheer, this is four coats.

I thought this would be a nice color to layer some feathers over to create feather nails since I had been wanting to try it for a while, but it's not as easy as it looks!

I put some craft feathers on my nails and then cut them to size, added a coat of Nicole by OPI Love Your Life to add a bit of sparkle and then finished off with a top coat. Looking back, I probably should have cut the feathers before I stuck them too my nail.

Sorry for the bad photo quality!

OPI Silver Shatter

Hey girls! Today I have another swatch for you, OPI Silver Shatter. I was hesitant to buy this polish because of all the stories I've heard about other beauty blogger's crackles/shatters thickening up to the point where they can't be used anymore. Needless to say, I caved and bought the Silver Shatter anyway. Here are some photos of OPI Silver Shatter over OPI Road House Blues.

I am very pleased with this polish so far. It applied very nicely and it's so shiny! What do you think?

Splatter Mani!

(This is a scheduled post, as I'm getting all four of my wisdom teeth out today.)

Hey Girls! This Monday's PAA nail art challenge theme was splatter, so I attempted my first ever splatter mani. All of the splatter manicures I've seen recently have been over a white base, so I went with black to try and be a little bit different. :)

I started with one coat of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black Out, it's sooo shiny by itself!

I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On (White), Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Green With Envy (Green) and Nicole by OPI My Lifesaver (Blue) to 'splatter' the black.
